A photoshoot is not just about pictures — it’s about capturing your connection, your laughter, and your quiet moments together. An engagement or love story session is a beautiful way to stop time and keep your feelings exactly as they are now — sincere, tender, and real. Here are a few simple tips to help you enjoy the experience and make your photos truly special.
1. Choose a photographer you trust
Feeling comfortable with your photographer is the key to natural, warm photos.
Don’t hesitate to share what you want from your session — what kind of atmosphere, style, and emotions you’d like to capture.
Take a look at their portfolio in advance and see if their tone, light, and compositions resonate with you.
When you connect with your photographer’s style, it becomes much easier to relax and enjoy the process.

2. Think about the mood and the location
What feels right for you — a walk through cozy Italian streets, the energy of a city square, or a quiet place far from tourists?
Maybe there’s a spot that means something to your relationship — where you first met, or simply a place you love returning to together.
Such locations always bring authenticity and depth to your photos. I’m always happy to help you choose the perfect place and timing that reflect your story.

3. Choose your outfits in advance
Wear what makes you feel comfortable and confident.
Soft, neutral tones, natural fabrics, and simple silhouettes always look timeless and elegant.
Avoid loud prints or big logos — the focus should stay on you, not your clothes.
Opt for clothing that feels timeless — simple and refined, the kind you’ll still love when you look at your photos twenty years from now.

4. Don’t forget about your hands
Your hands will often be in focus — especially if this is an engagement session with rings.
A fresh manicure, clean nails, and soft skin will make the photos look polished and graceful, even in close-up shots.

5. Timing matters
Sunlight changes throughout the year — and in Italy, it’s almost always beautiful, but there are nuances.
As a general rule, it’s best to avoid shooting under harsh midday sun, which creates strong shadows and contrast.
Around 3 p.m., especially in narrow streets, light becomes softer and creates a lovely play of light and shade.
Your photographer will help you find the perfect time depending on the season and the location — since light behaves differently at different times of the year.

6. Relax and live the moment
This session is a story about you — your connection, your emotions, your little gestures.
That’s why it’s so important to live each moment of the photoshoot, not just stand where you’re told.
Usually, during my sessions I gently direct and guide you, suggesting what to do or how to interact, but never asking you to freeze in a pose.
I want you to move, laugh, touch, walk — to feel the moment fully.
Because the best photos are not staged — they are felt.

7. Make this day about the two of you
If this is an engagement or pre-wedding session, try to clear your schedule and spend the whole day together.
Go to a spa in the morning, take a quiet walk, and enjoy dinner or a glass of wine afterward.
A photoshoot isn’t something stressful — it’s actually a lovely time spent together, a chance to slow down and reconnect.
Your photographer will take care of the poses, angles, and locations — all you need to do is be present.

8. Keep it lighthearted
Don’t aim for perfection.
Little laughs, natural movements, and even moments of awkwardness — that’s what makes your photos feel alive and real.
Often, the most spontaneous moments turn into your favorite ones.

9.Think of it as a rehearsal for your wedding
A love story session helps you get used to the camera and understand what feels natural for you.
But most importantly, it’s a way to preserve your love as it is right now — authentic, emotional, and yours.
No posing, no pressure — just the two of you, as you are.

The most beautiful photos are never about perfect poses — they’re about genuine emotions.
Be yourselves, and I’ll capture that connection — softly, sincerely, and with heart. If you love my work and the way I tell stories through photography,
I’ll be happy to capture your love story in Italy — wherever your heart takes you.
